Beyond the chartsShows, interviews & podcasts
SHHC is developing original content around Scottish hip-hop: weekly round-ups, artist conversations, short social formats, creator collaborations and occasional bigger projects. These are formats we want to build properly as the project grows.
Flagship formatSHHC Weekly
The natural weekly companion to the charts: a scene round-up built around what moved, what dropped, what is coming up and what people may have missed.
In development
A weekly look at the wider scene
Chart movement would be one part of it, not the whole show. SHHC Weekly can also cover new releases, upcoming events, interesting collaborations, artist activity and other stories emerging from the database and the community.
It could work as a video show, audio programme, shorter social package or a mix of those formats. The exact shape should be tested rather than over-promised before the first edition exists.
Interested in helping shape SHHC Weekly? →Formats we're developingNot everything needs to become a podcast, and not everything needs an SHHC presenter. Some ideas make more sense as a quick social feature, a guest collaboration or a one-off project.
Artist conversationsInterviews with the people making the music
Longer conversations with artists, producers and other people around the scene — focused on their work, ideas and what is actually happening around them.
Short-formQuick questions & social formats
Fast Q&As, this-or-that formats and personality-led clips designed for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts rather than forcing every interview into a long podcast.
Creator collaborationsScene voices & crossovers
Guest pieces with Scottish music creators, interviewers, DJs and social personalities who already have their own voice, audience or format.
Behind the musicProducer features
Conversations and breakdowns with producers about the records, beats and creative decisions behind Scottish hip-hop releases.
Special projectsCyphers, live sessions & one-offs
Projects that do not need to become a permanent series — from cyphers and live sessions to event coverage and other ideas worth trying.
Want to make one of these?SHHC is open to creative collaborations.
If you interview artists, make music content, present, film, edit, photograph, DJ or already have a format that could work with SHHC, the contributor page explains the kinds of ideas we would like to hear.
Editorial separation: interviews, features and collaborations are separate from SHHC chart measurement. Coverage does not affect eligibility, scoring or ranking.
